The Problems Surrounding Sunday

THIS IS MY OPINION

i walked in and hampden looked health then the yams started filling and i noticed huge sections empty on our support (what seemed like HALF the east stand)

the ref was not impartial (imo) there were several dodgy tackles by the yams (7 counted) before anything was done, we had 1 and got a card, mood set for the game,

so far as a player i would be a little miffed by this

then when the first goal went in, we didn't get behind the team, we (myself included) sat there in stunned silence which is understandable but we weren't really behind the team after that

then to top all that off, we were out played, it seemed they wanted it more than we did

i say again this is my opinion, and i would like to hear others

Re: The Problems Surrounding Sunday

No surprises yesterday, we have 6 players out, they have an injury to pressley and fyssas comes on, boy just won the european championships !! Romanov is probably right to sack all these managers considering the squad they have,...

Then they have a big support and we are struggling, Did anybody seriously think we could win yesterday, even with our BEST team out, we would still not be guaranteed a win against the yams this year.

Its time to take yer hats off and say, "the better team won" we are gonna be miles away from them for a few years to come, i hate it, but its true....

And who the hell at this club was resposible for letting hartley go, how many goals has he scored against us this season, bloody disgrace....

AS I SAID WE WERE OUT PLAYED, they actually looked like a team that could build into a force in scotland, can see the league tables in years to come, the old firm and the yams fighting the whole way for 1st spot while we struggle

man we shouldn't be talking like this, but how can you help it with our recent run

Re: The Problems Surrounding Sunday

I think the combination of the vast spaces of empty seats did little to encourage what support we had to get behind the team, and once the teams were announced any enthusiasm the crowd had evaporated. I think that had been held in a smaller ground, and had been an earlier round, even with the same squad, the atmosphere would have been entirely different.

Re: The Problems Surrounding Sunday

If Mr Romanov decides to go play with a new toy then Hearts are in deep trouble. They have gone back to the situtation of Scottish Football in the early 90s where people paid over the odds wages and its a dangerous game. Fair play to them they have a good team at the moment and thoroughly deserved to beat us yesterday but is a couple of seasons of success worth risking the whole future of the club? I for one won't be offering the slightest bit of sympathy if Mr Romanov gets bored and leaves although I can see the whole media now saying how the fans are hard done by. They've had their opportunitiesto reject Romanov but have failed to do so in pursuit of what...? one cup and a champions league qualifying defeat? Can't wait til Mr Romanov has had enough and to any Jambos out there on ... Don't say we (and any other person with their head screwed on and not with maroon blinkers on) didnt warn you.

the whole day did not feel right IMO, we had empty spaces, the atmosphere was that great and the team looked like they lacked the belief to go out and win, just a very sad and disappointing day.

A fair point dude. Does anyone feel as if they've been at "that" derby dozens of times?

Same old story, we start off ok, lose a goal, a "oh no here we go again" attitude kicks in with our fans then hearts start to boss the game. seen it so many times, both in the 22 in a row run and since on a regular basis.

I honestly think the roars of anticipation when sproule gets the ball are becoming detrimental to his form, or putting him off, as it were.

The manager has to come up with an effective tactical system for dealing with hearts as our aggregate score against them this season shows (12 -3 to hearts)

This last derby is going to be a nightmare as far as being taunted by the gorgie huns goes, even if we win they'll still be laughing.

our only hope now in this, the albert kidd 20th anniversary season, is that a similar hero in Gretna colours can sink hearts. but that is highly unlikely.

All that said, don't be too disheartened, 2 years ago we were bottom six, had not long been humiliated by livi at hampden had a negative fat hun manager and our team was playing tedious football. we've still come a long way baby.

we will become a force, but we need investment, we need someone with money and passion to say , "heres some money, give it to tony and tell him to get players" but we don't have the sort of luck the scum do

you think mad vlad had his hand in the refs pocket, or would that have been rix (mayby thats why they sacked him) anyway i digress

we played shit, we looked amature and we deserved to get beat, don't stop it hurting tho

Re: The Problems Surrounding Sunday

I was impressed by neither team. Hibs were poor, with very little fight or skill, Hearts resorted to constant fouling to prevent counter attacking, that isn't football, thats cheating or as Andy Walker would say 'being streetwise'.

There is nothing about that sort of football that deserves applause, its being dirty and sneaky, total gamesmanship and the referee was suckered by it again. If he had presented a couple of yellows early on, it would have been a much more enjoyable game and probably with a differnet outcome.
I would be disappointed if Hibs resorted to such tactics.

Re: The Problems Surrounding Sunday

Completely agree 500 miles...

Both teams were cack!!!
Referee let to many fouls go by Yams before booking one of hibs....
Not blaming the ref.
Hibs didn't have the guts for the fight, I seriously don't think the eleven men who took to that pitch yesterday truely believed they were going to win.
To many long range efforts..

I said to my bro when i got in that the hibs support looked beaten before we even got into Hampden. By then, the team news had filtered out, and everyone i saw was heading silently towards the game.

Similar to a conversation i had with my Dad. The 'Mind Games' with players saying that they would be fit appeared to work against us.
