Re: Ivan Sproule

I feel for Sproule today.

Lets be honest here, it was only when he burst forward that we as a support believed we could do something. The expectation levels on the guy are not IMO reasonable.

He was asked to play an unfamiliar role and was sent too many feckin high balls..

That said at 2-0 down with more than enough time to score two goals (although it didn't look likely..) he let himself and the club down..

but generally agree we rely to much on sproule, the guy is not super human and sending high balls to him doesnt work, remember hes not even been playing professional football for a year now

Re: Ivan Sproule

the rest of the team played a part in his rubbish performance, someone needs to tell them all that o'connor is gone, therefore the longball is a waste of time, they need to start playing a ground game as we are now possibly one of the smallest teams in the top 6 up front

That doesn't wash anymore.Everytime he has a bad game that excuse seems to get used. When hes in the mood and interested he will make a difference.Today he had two runs which resulted in us winning 2 corners. His body language at times told its own story as well,it just looked as if he was there to make up the numbers

Re: Ivan Sproule

Ivan had a bad game, he could have scored from 2 yards out but bottled it, he also had the ball on the edge of the box a couple of times and duffed it because he couldnt decide wether to go alone or pass.

well its not really an excuse, the guy still has alot of learning to do, hes got the pace but he needs to develop the end product, although i agree he wasn't great today but everyone expects him to deliver now everytime he is on the ball

True , but getting yourself sent off the way he did, is not something I like seeing from a player. poor show Ivan though better of you.

i agree mate, all we could have hoped for was a sneaky winner or a draw with our injury list recently, the team is right in the middle of a big transition having lost a few key players up front and in midfield, it's a case of working out how to change the play

agree with that, definately expect him to try his hardest but it just looked like a defeated team out there, never looked like they had it in them, personally i was admitting defeat at half time

I'm not blaming him as he is only 1 player in an 11 man team.I'm just saying that after that today he needs to get his heid down and get back to ivan sproule we all came to love.I don't particularly want to see anymore incidents like today's as he not only embarrassed himself but he embarrassed the club and the fans with his behaviour,it was nothing short of disgraceful

Some fans do but the majority realise that he can't make something happen all the time.My original point though,is that if he wanted to make a difference today he would have, but his display and sending off tells its own story. He simply wasn't interested
