For those doubters out there who still question the existence of the "BENJI" (latin name Abdelsalem Benjelloune), EastStandP is glad to report that this shy, timid creature was spotted away from his natural goal-scoring environment of the training ground, in the Albion Bar last night. He engaged in some social interaction, keeping his instinctive predatory instincts firmly under control while drinking from a nearby glass of orange juice. He professed to be unsure on the number of goals he will score in the semi-final - is six showing off he asked with just a subtle hint of Leith in his accent. He let it be known that while supporting Inter, he only rated Stankovic's goal as average before wandering off into the night looking for a well lit wall to hit his football off.

EastStandP is also aware that it is very sad to refer to yourself in the third person.

EastStandP doesn't care.

Might have been an idea to attatch a pic that doesnt make him look like he's been out on the lash with you for the past 3 months!!

I'm afraid my extensive Benji picture collection is being moved to an underground bunker is south Wales in preparation for his upcoming "legend" status so I wasn't left with much of a choice.

Anyway, I've seen him before, he always looks like that. I reckon the deceptively sleepy look will work when he gubs Pressley and scores his first of six

EastStandP knows all but says very little.......

Basically he was saying the his work permit was sorted out last week and that his old club, MAS, and the Moroccan FA have finally got the finger out and have sent over his registration papers. TM is along to Glasgow on Thursday to bring it all together and ensure everything goes smoothly with SFA and he's hoping he'll be playing in a reserve game asap

After keeping tabs of all the 'Benji' threads I must I like his arrogance. Tell him he must score all 7 in the semi though

I too have had the pleasure of being in the company of this elusive striker in the Albion Bar last Saturday night. Contary to popular belief our hero is actually tee-total and only uses the public house for its Sky Sports facilities and extensive range of soft drinks. A contract will be signed this week allegedly - hurrah!

My mate saw Hibs training this morning at Pinkie in Mussi.

All the crew were there along with Deano and Benji. Said that he has wonderful skill with both feet so he does exist

The deal was done during the window, and confirmation of intention of registration logged with the SFA before the window closed, pending his work permit. So technically he has been a Hibs player since, but he's been unable to play.
