Siege Mentality/Mind Games?

Having read the article in Friday's Daily Retard, in which TM explained his pro-Hampden stance, and seen a brief interview with him on yesterday's Football Focus during which he articulated 'neutrality is the crux' I believe there are two possible reasons for him coming out so strongly against Murrayfield:
1) He genuinely does believe their brief European campaign there fifteen months ago, in which only four of their current team featured, will work in their favour and to our detriment, despite their two changes of management since.
2) TM has taken a leaf from the Alex Ferguson text book of football management and media manipulation and is seeking to build a siege mentality amongst the Hibernian players and supporters by capitalising on any perceived 'unfair advantage' any opposition team may have, no matter how slight.

I think it's possible that AF has influenced him, particularly after reading the interview in today's Hunday Mason, in which he talks of improving the training facilities and extending the ground's capacity. In Michael Crick's excellent book 'The Many Sides of Alex Ferguson' (which doesn't flatter him, unlike Hugh McIlvanney's sycophantic 'Managing My Life') someone (I can't remember who) is quoted saying the diffrence between other managers and AF is that other managers just build a team whereas AF, at every club he's managed, East Stirling, St Mirren, Aberdeen, Man U, has always sought to build a club. Tony Mowbray is surely building a club at Easter Road, whereas guys like Bobby Williamson didn't even succeed in building a team.

Re: Siege Mentality/Mind Games?

Taking your management lead from the greatest manager the British game has ever had is what you wanna do if you wanna be a success. Tony is only just starting out on the old career path, yet look at the strides he has made with our club.

Building from the bottom up is a perfect example of how Tony has sought to improve the club as a whole and not just the results on the pitch. We have had the managers come and go who signed any player in sight just to 'fill a role' and a 'system' that mainly consisted of damage limitation before anything else.

Tony's fresh approach coupled with our young players has meant we've made remarkable progress in a short space of time yet with the potential of much more. By signing our youth on and bringing in experienced pro's Hibs are in the best shape they've been in since the real golden years. Every time Tony speaks I agree with him and I learn from him. He will obviously get things wrong from time to time and I'm sure he'd say that first but on this Hampden issue I wholeheartedly agree with his 'assessment' and support the ruffling of Jambo/russian feathers whenever possible.

In my list of Tony superlatives I'm adding 'wry'.
