Murrayfield Pitch Dimensions

Right, I don't mind where we play this Semi Final, as I'm confident that we'll slice the Yams up good and proper, but what I don;t understand is this argument that seems to be going in favour of Hampden about pitch size.

In Football: "The length of pitch for international matches should be in the range 100 m - 110 m (110-120 yards) and the width should be in the range 65 m - 75 m (70-80 yards). For other matches the constraints are looser: 90 m - 120 m (100-130 yards) length by 45 m - 90 m (50-100 yards) width. The pitch must be rectangular, this is longer than it is wide."

The Murrayfield pitch is plenty big enough and is probably even bigger in surface area than Hampden. So nobody can use the excuse that there would be more space at Hampden. Just making a point.

BRING ON THE YAMS WHERE-EVER WE HAVE TO PLAY THEM!

Re: Murrayfield Pitch Dimensions

Not seen too many complaints about the size of Murrayfield - Hampden is said to be preferred over a trip to Tynie cos of the pitch size (so mair people happy to get them this round and not last).

It's the state of the pitch that people question - the fact that it's a rugby pitch, designed and maintained for rugby to be played on it rather than football.

Re: Murrayfield Pitch Dimensions

what an oversight of the fourth dimension of pitch space in which the ball aproaches the speed of light.
