Your right but he has had dealings with them before. See this extract from the Scotsman :-

That is like saying that Hibs have had dealings with Institute (ie signing Ivan, and arranging a friendly with them). The fact that Mad Vlad decided to pass Cesnauskis to Hearts via Kaunas doesn't have anything to do with Lokomotiv.

That Wikipedia is getting really annoying. I read somewhere that only registered users will be able to alter the most hight profile entries (in the wake of a journalist in the US being wrongly implicated in the Kennedy assasination in a Wikipedia reference). Perhaps they should widen that to try to stop wind-up merchants wrecking this resource for everyone.

Were it differs is that have loads of players have signed from Northern Ireland to mainland Britain. This is the first ever transfer from Britain to Russia. The full artical explain how Romanov convinced the Lokomotiv Manager it was in the players best interest to let him go to Hearts as he needed first time football.

Sure it doesn't prove anything, but it is interesting that the Hearts owner has previous dealings with the team that has signed the first ever British player and that the player happens to play for the owners nearest rivals who they coincidental play in the biggest game in both their historys for quite sometime.

By the way the other player that a Russian team has made an offer for recently was Derek Riordan. If he had accepted he could have been the first ever British Russian transfer. A case Mulder and Sculley me thinks

Think its all just a simple coinsidence.

As bad as it may seem that gary has left think of the money that has been made! Surely its a win win situation-alot of debt cleared or money made available for transfers/wages, maybe Riordan will be offered the contract he wants, and its also 100% profit as hes a home-grown boy.

I personally think its fantastic, money has been made and one of our best players this season is going to one of the better russian clubs (not to either of the OF scum). Nothing ventured nothing gained.
