After years of 'fast' abuse, my friends believe I suffer from paranoia. I, of course, would argue that I have total awareness.

However, am I alone in believing that last night's draw was not literally down to the luck of the draw and that there was a conspiracy responsible for us meeting the Shelterettes?

What I mean is that I believe the authorities, i.e. the SFA and the polis (all three central belt forces) did not want a Hibs-Hearts final in Glasgow and do not want even the semi to take place through there because of the likely social problems it would cause.

The Glasgow polis have plenty experience of policing Old Firm games in Glasgow, the Central Scotland force are used to dealing with Hibbies n Jambos in Falkirk for a match and the labdicks are used to coping with the aftermath of Hibs-Hertz games.

The three of them are not used to having to collaborate as over 50,000 Embra fans march on Glasgow and, given the fact that Edinburgh derbies for anything other than local bragging rights are rarer than an ashtray at Michael Barrymore's house, feelings will really be running high.

Maybe I'm just talkin p!sh, maybe I should finally book that 4 Poster Bed suite at Carstairs, but I really think that the powers-that-be will be pleased that there definitely will be no all-Edinburgh Cup Final in Glasgow now.

You could be right. They didn't even tell us the numbers of the teams before they came out. They had a wee smirk on their faces. Dunno if it was a conspiracy or not.

yeah, probably was a fix, scotland are playing that pishy not important tournament in japan and didnt want an all edinburgh final

Exactly & Walter Smith admitted an all Edinburgh final would play havoc with his plans for that tournament
