on balance this is the draw i want, as it avoids the nightmare scenario.

but otoh i am haunted by the livi final our capability for underachieving. maybe we'd raise our game more against the yams

but really, now falkirk - which i thought was a potential banana skin is out the way, its gotta be us or them surely. i widnae fancy going to gretna but playing them at hampden should be a skoosh.

agree, i think the cup will be in edinburgh this year and obviously i hope it will be coming to leith, yams in the semi would be better as if we get beat they have not won it but then if we beat them in the final that would be the perfect way to end the hoodoo but overall rather have the yams in the semi-final

While i would love to beat the yam ****s at hampden (what better way of ending our 104 year hoodoo!) i know for a fact that i couldnt handle it if we lost the cup to them.

Plus i think that there would be major crowd trouble either way no matter what the result so id rather do them in the semis. Plus being an anglo it would be easier to get a ticket for Hibs Gretna!

think of the celebrations if we beat hearts in the final, it would be out of this world.

but think if we lost it to them, you'd be gutted, probably wouldnt show your face again. too hard to take to lose to them in the final so i'd prefer to get them in the semis. prefably they get someone else though and get beaten, then we get dundee or something.

I would rather we didn't have to play Hearts at all TBH, but if we do have play them I would much rather play them in the semi than the Final. The semi is just a one-off nondescript game, and no cups are presented at the end. So if we lose to them, it's hell but we would not have to suffer the ultimate nightmare of watching Pressley & Co going up to get the Cup. I break ouin a cold sweat just thinking about that. No, if we were to beat Hearts in the semi, I reckon it would be a Hibs v Gretna Final, and surely that is the ideal scenario to end our long overdue wait for Scottish Cup glory ?

I really don't want an all Edinburgh Final, although I know many Hibbies who do.
