excellent volley against Aberdeen was the winner of Decembers Goal of the Month competition, polling a massive 75% of the vote. Stephen's goal goes into the hat to find who will be awarded the Goal Of The Season at this year's Hibees Bounce Player of the Year Dance, which will be held in the Hibs Club on April 16th.


January saw the Hibees stick the ball away no fewer than 8 times, with only one conceded, with top scorer Derek Riordan getting his first hat-trick for the Cabbagios.

SPL: Hibs 1 v 1 Hearts

Stephen Glass disposessed the Hearts Bhoy, Hartley, outside his own area and knocked it on to Garry O'Connor. Garry played a header 1-2 with Dean Sheils, and then slipped the ball into Dean's path again, who in turn, took one touch and put it right in front of Derek Riordan

started and finishened the move that opened the scoring. Collecting the ball on the halfway line, Stevie made one of the lung-bursting runs that have become his trademark this season. Powering his way towards the Dundee penalty area, he slipped the ball out wide to Jamie McCluskey. 'Jinky' weaved his way past 2 defenders and squared the ball back to Whittaker on the 18-yard line and his right-foot shot curled into the bottom corner, giving Souter no chance.


Dundee were trying hard to get back on level terms and they were putting pressure on the Hibs goal. It was from this that Hibs clinched the tie. Gary Caldwell intercepted the ball outside the Hibs penalty area, pushing the ball forward to Dean Sheils. Sheils spotted Derek Riordan out on the left flank and sent him racing away. Deeks took the ball to the edge of the Dundee box, looked up and saw Sam Morrow

Deeks' cross was met to perfection as Sam's low, angled drive was fired into the corner of the net to put Hibs through to the next round.


SPL: Livingston 0 v 2 Hibs

A huge Hibs following saw the Hibees put in another very good display away from home. Stevie Whittaker started off the move that opened the scoring, pushing forward out of defence, he played the ball into the path of Garry O'Connor

who got behind his man on the blind side, and fired a low shot past the Livvy keeper.


Hibs sealed the points when Guillame Beuzilin nodded the ball forward to Garry O'Connor, who had beaten the Livvy offside trap, his shot was parried by Colin Meldrum, but only into the path of Derek Riordan

A stuffy Killie team made things hard for Hibs to break them down and it was goal of quality that finally did it. Stephen Glass got behind the Kilmarnock defence brilliantly, nodding the ball through and chasing it down, he cut the ball back from the bye-line to Derek Riordan (1)
