Berry Powel, you might know him. He played some test matches for Hibernian last season.

Looks like I have to adjust my opinion about the rest of the season. We've got new superstars. Goran Lovre and (especially) Marcus Berg are excellent at the moment.

Yeah, we've got new stars after Silva, Lindgren en Nevland left. Silva is replaced with Tom Hiariej. Hiariej is a youth player and is doing a great job. There's a future superstar in him, let's hope he won't be going to Ajax as well in the future . Lindgren is replaced with Danny Holla also a youth player, he was on loan to FC Zwolle but we got him back. Doing a good job as well. Nevland is replaced with Berry Powel, he has a difficult job to replace Nevland but he is doing great. Of course we've got Marcus Berg, I don't think he will be playing with Groningen next year. He is just to good. And finaly we've got Stef Nijland as a striker, also a youth player. He has got a good future, although he must score more goals. But he is still young, he can learn.

So, we're doing not bad with FCG

Ok. Our season is fecked. Tonight we've played 1-1 against de Graafschap. We're lucky with 1 point. We can forget about the first 5. The first 9 places is a sure thing, but when we play like this (like we've played the last 5 games) there's no UEFA Cup for us this time. Arghhh!!!

what happened today at the game was postponed due to crowd trouble must have been quite bad

Fans on the North stand were throwing toiletpaper on the pitch. The toiletpapier caught fire wich resulted in a big fire on the stand and pitch. Apparently there were no working fire extinguishers so the flames became bigger and bigger. The fans jumped onto the pitch to get away from the fire.

The season is over for FC Groningen. We've ended 7th in the league and had to play play-offs for a European ticket. The first round we had to play against FC Utrecht. We had lost both matches against FC Utrecht in the league. The play-offs however was a different world. The first match was an away match, we played a draw (2-2) after being down 2-0. We won the second match in the Euroborg with 3-1, so we went to the next round. We had to play against NEC Nijmegen. The first match was an away match. We've lost 5-1 in the league at Nijmegen, in the play-offs however 1-0. The score could have been 8-0, but we've lost minor. Last sunday was the next match at Euroborg. After a 5-1 win in the league, we lost 1-3 in the play-offs. So that means the players can go on a vacation then. The season is over. The whole team broke down after the departure of Lindgren, Silva and Nevland.

We have to get some new players for next season. Some players with spirit, who want to fight for a win. But most importantly we have to get a replacement for Lindgren.
