Re: St Patricks Athletic 2006

Date: 05/05/2006
Venue: Dalymount Park
Dublin City 0 - St Patrick's Athletic 2
St. Patrick’s Athletic moved to within three points of eircom league leaders, Drogheda United, when their deadly duo struck again at Dalymount Park.

Paul Keegan and Trevor Molloy were recruited at the start of the season by manager John McDonnell and they continue to repay his confidence in the most valuable currency of all.

Keegan struck the opening goal after just seven minutes, getting on the end of a cross from Molloy to help St. Pats establish an early advantage.

Molloy added the second after 29 minutes when his free kick from just outside the area beat the Vikings defence again. They were close to a third in the second half when Darragh Maguire had a shot taken off the goal-line.

eircom League Overall Table May 6th, 2006
1 Drogheda United
2 Derry City
3 Cork City
4 St Patricks Athletic
5 Shelbourne
6 Bohemians
7 Sligo Rovers
8 Dublin City
9 UCD
10 Longford Town
11 Waterford United
12 Bray Wanderers

Dublin City 0-2 St Patricks Ath

The Saints good form continues with a very comfortable win against Dublin City in Dalymount Park. First half strikes from Paul Keegan (3rd of the season) and Trevor Molloy (4th of the season) sealed the points in a game were Saints 'keeper Barry Ryan was never troubled

Re: St Patricks Athletic 2006

Saints 1 Derry City 1

Derry scored after 6minutes and defended then for 84mins they were in our half very rarely and didnt look to threatning...Trevor Molloy, who again was man of the match, hit the crossbar and the post on his left foot, one in each half!! the general Mulcahy had a header cleared off the line late on and O'Connor had a few chances where he should have shot but opted to pass, Michael Foley had a good right foot shot saved by Forde, forde is officially the worst keeper in the league!! the only complaint was not winning the game but a good point after coming from behind!!!

PS: Tuite should NEVER be allowed to referee a match again

You boys ain't having the best of seasons Although I still think Waterfors will finish bottom, and Sligos away form is gonna keep them in the lower half, close to bottom for the season

Re: St Patricks Athletic 2006

Malahide Utd 0-2 Saints

Saints secured a comfortable passage to the 3rd round of the FAI Cup with a win in Malahide on Sunday. 2-0 up at half time through goals from Mark Quigley and Trevor Molloy, it the got worse for Malahide when one of their players was sent off for a second yellow with just over half an hour gone. The 2nd half was just going through the paces for the Saints who were never really troubled.

Fair play to Malahide though, GREAT set up out Gannon Park, good luck to them for rest of their league (which they can win on Wednesday by beating Wayside Celtic)

Waterford Utd 1-3 Saints

A VERY comfortable win for the Saints down at the RSC in Waterford. Waterford are a shambles (sorry Nabser) and there's no doubt what so ever they'll be relegated at end of season. Although personally there's a few other clubs I'd prefer to see going down first.

Horrible, horrible defeat of the Saints, losing to a team that pretty much everyone else can beat. The World Cup break has done us no favours.

Nor has a missed penalty in this game, plus a dissallowed goal when the ball was travelling BACKWARDS off the crossbar

Next Up for the Saints, tomorrow night up in Longford

Re: St Patricks Athletic 2006

Longford Town 2-0 Saints

Bray Wanderers 1-2 Saints

Bit of a mixed week for the Saints, aghain losing to another shit team in Longford in what I felt was without doubt our worst performance this season. Players weren't interested at all once we went a goal down

Different yesterday though out in sunny Bray, very good performance by the Saints and a fully deserved win

We've a couple of weeks break noe due to the Cork CIty game being postponed (NONSENSE ) and Dublin City going bust and being forced out of the league (Good Riddance)

Re: St Patricks Athletic 2006

F.A.I Cup

Date: 26/08/2006
Venue: Richmond Park
St Patricks Athletic 2 - Dundalk 0
It was the visitors who had the better start and twice they went close within the opening seven minutes. On six, Robert McAuley struck a low and very hard free kick from 25 yards out that went inches wide of Barry Ryan s right post while Sean Finn tried his luck from the right of the box a minute later but he put to much weight in the effort and it grazed the crossbar as it went over.

Pat's took their time but soon settled in and Keegan had their first decent shot on target on 15 minutes but Dundalk keeper Chris Bennion got down well to block his strike. Trevor Molloy then had a snap shot on 19 minutes but again Bennion made a fine save. At the other end Robbie Dunne's header hit the crossbar on the half-hour.

Following intense pressure, Pat's opened the scoring on 38 minutes. After good work from Molloy, Michael Foley and Colm Foley, Keegan headed past Bennion from close range.

McAuley thought he had put Dundalk level on 56 minutes when he headed past Ryan but ref Damien Hancock ruled the goal out after seeing pushing in the crowded goalmouth. McAuley was then given a yellow card for protesting.

Pats boss Johnny McDonnell replaced Mark Quigley with Anto Murphy after 63 minutes and Murphy sealed the win for Pat s with a close range strike from the right just three minutes after coming on.

Re: St Patricks Athletic 2006

Venue: Richmond Park

St Patrick's Athletic 0 - Waterford United 1
Waterford United claimed their first league win of the season and a first minute goal from Alan Cawley settled their Premier Division game with Saint Patrick's Athletic at Richmond Park.

The Saints have slipped well off the lead sides in the last couple of months while Waterford now move to within three points of second from bottom Bray.

In the opening seconds of the game Ger McCarthy stole possession from Darragh Maguire before playing in Cawley who in turn got past a number of the Pats defence before slotting home.

Colm Foley forced a save from Waterford keeper Ben Spicer in the minutes before half time as the Saints attempted to avoid an embaresing loss. Trevor Molloy also went close but John Hayes made a vital interception to flick the shot away from goal.

Molloy again went close shortly after half-time while Spicer produced another good save to deny Anthony Murphy. The Saints challenge faded and Gareth Cronin's first league game in charge produced the Blues' first league win of the season.

Re: St Patricks Athletic 2006

A few games since I've been away.

We drew 0-0 at home to Longford (missed it so no comment)

Then we beat Dundalkkk 2-0 in the cup, a comforatable win but far from a good performance from the Saints, goals from Paul Keean and Anto Murphy. Terrible attandance also

Then came our worst result in YEARS, lost 1-0 at home to bottom of the league Waterford Utd, their 1st win of the season. Disgraceful and not acceptable.

And last night a good 0-0 draw away to Cork Shity

The draw for quarter finals of the FAI Cup will be made by Michel Platini tomorrow night (here's hoping for a home draw)

Next up for Saints: Away to UCD this Friday 8th Sept @ 7.45pm
