Just too bad they scored in injury time now they still have a chance on sunday. Well I hope it keeps us sharp. Louis van Gaal is a sore loser

FC Groningen just came back from a wunderfull loss of 2-1 againt AZ Alkmaar. Wunderfull? Yes, indeed, due to the 3-1 victory in Groningen it means that we beat them and play in the final round for perhaps CL against Ajax Amsterdam!

Agur: great to see that even at Alaves they like Magno Mocelin a lot! I even saw him in a final (red card) afterwards. He was a great player for FC Groningen even in difficult times for our team.

The grapes were very sour for AZ manager Louis van Gaal. All the things he said about us....oooh. But it doesn't bother me though we're through and he's got fcuk all.
Hands up if you think van Gaal is a :wa**ker:

Sourest grapes I have witnessed for some time. He's a very wilful, unpredictable character, is van Gaal, and despite his tragic personal history I have just never liked him, mainly cos he loses it in talks with the press and his only defence is blunt arrogancy.

Yes it is. Next wednesday we're having them over in the Euroborg a.k.a the green hell. We suffered a painfull defeat yesterday but we're not beaten yet. It's gonna be a tough one but in the green hell anything can happen.

Just checked the score, and Groningen won 2-1, but miss out on the CL 3-2.

The real bummer is that those lucky Ajax bastards scored in the last minute.

Yep it was very unlucky. We lost 2-1 against the kitchen cleaners.

But the best thing of all was that the Groningen crowd was singing instead of the kitchen cleaners. Allmost everybody of the 20000 crowd stayed to support the team after the last whistle.
We were singing things in dutch about how we've enjoyed this season and that we're victorious and it doesn't matter that we've lost.
And that we play in Europe next year so we're proud.

It's a pity FC Groningen will play against Falkirk before the competition starts, but not against the Hibs.. There is still space in the programm the end of August...

One player of us (Glenn Salmon, South African) will most probably leave FC Groningen this summer. Due to his wife he wants to go to a.o. Scotland. He is in favour of the Hibs (his wife is a problem, SSB...).

Well in the Netherlands people do not wear much club-outfits. In Scotland you'll see it more. And many FC Groningen fans wear casual clothing black with a green texture or something like that.

Tough luck on missing out on the CL but it was still a great season and UEFA Cup next year, best of luck for that. The 20000 fans staying behind and cheering the team is part of what I love about football and everyone at Groningen should be very proud!

Does it look like most of the squad will be staying for next season? Outsiders for the title? (Of course you probably can't answer those 'till after the World Cup/Beginning of the season when things are settled but whats the feeling among the fans looking to next season?)

I don't think we are outsiders for the title. Ajax, PSV, Feyenoord and AZ simply have way too much money for us pulling a stunt like that. But I'll sign now if we have a season again like last one. I'm pretty confident we'll have a great season. We only lost Luirink to AZ (but got 3 million euro's for him) and it doesn't seem that we gonna loose much more players. We were after Swedish defender Karl Svenson but the wanker signed for the Huns. Currently we are looking in Sweden, Uruguay and Austria and of course our own leauges for a central defender, a left back, a defensive midfielder and a striker. Our scouting system proved to be very succesful in recent years so i'm waiting in great anticipation.
