"Kilmarnock have signed Alexei Eremenko on a season-long loan from Ukraine club Metalist Kharkiv.

The 27-year-old Finnish international is an attacking midfielder who can play a number of roles.

The Rugby Park manager Mixu Paatelainen has used his contacts in his homeland to land Eremenko, who has scored 13 goals in 44 appearances for Finland.

Eremenko has recently been on loan at FC Jaro, a team managed by his father, where he scored six goals in 15 games.

He started his career with Finnish club FC Jokerit in 2001 before moving to HJK Helsinki in 2002.

After a successful two years at HJK, where he won two league championships and one Finnish Cup, he went on to play at the top level in Italy with Lecce, followed by a three-year stay in Russia with FC Saturn."

Like all of you, I loathe, hate, utterly detest and phuckin despise Feart of Madlithuanian Rugby Club. They are a cunch of buntz. If Swynecastle was on fire I'd only pish on it if I had Castrol GTX in my bladder. I wouldnae wipe the tollie off my Adrian Chiles wi a hertz scarf. The colour maroon makes me boak. I wouldn't even fart in their general direction, the Gorgie pig-dogs. And last week I punched the shop window at the St James Centre (I was pished!). You get the picture. However, I do have some happy memories of them, and not just the 7-0 and 6-2 games. No other things. Social things. Family things. Humdrum, mundane moments of my life. The domestic minutiae of everyday life enlivened by their ineptitude or a sardonical comment at their expense. And because I'm bored and at my mum n dad's and it's a Bank holiday weekend and I'm skint so I cannae go oot and get pished the night like any semi-sensible kant should do, I'm going to share these witlessly foul-mouthed anecdotes with you.

The first time I ever saw someone wearing a hertz strip was in December 1978 at friends of my parents in Cheltenham (without boring you too much about my life story, I lived in England til I was 7). I thought it looked similar to the Scotland Argentine 1978 World Cup top I had so I asked my dad what team it was. He replied, 'Hearts'. So I asked, 'Who are they?'. 'A rubbish team!', he replied. I will always love my dad, but I love him even more for that.

And, of course, hertz got relegated that season. And we knocked them out the Scottish Cup!

I'll skip the ultimate schadenfreude of Saint Albert Day as I think that has been more than adequately covered numerous times elsewhere on this site and move on to an October Saturday in 1989. Then living, as we do now, in South Wales, we drove up to spend a week in Edinburgh. However, as we travelled north we listened to the scores coming in on the radio (Hibs weren't playing as Aberdeen, our scheduled opponents, were in the Skol Cup final) and reacted with glee to the news that Celtic had come from behind to score a late winner against the scum. Anyway, when we got to the Burgh we stopped at a chippy which was packed with disgruntled Jambos! One elderly chap in particular looked like he was about to greet! When he came out wi the immortal line, 'hertz make a big mistake taking off Wayne Foster today' I thought I was going to wet myself!

Moving swiftly onwards, like many of you I'd imagine, I have several (many, actually) relatives that actually support that lot (my mum's from Craigmillar and my late Grandad was a Jambo as are my two uncles) and my Uncle Fraser seemed to think he had a chance of converting me. Not a phucking hope. However, I did attend two hertz games with him. Two matches that he paid for the tickets, the bevvy and the pies. I didn't spend a phucking bolt. Not a sausage. And I am pleased to say that I have a 100% success record. That's right. They got phucked both times!

The first occasion was on Saturday 8 April 1995; it was Scottish Cup semi-final day and the night before I'd been to see us draw 0-0 with the jungle jims at Ibrox (Leighton saved an Andy Walker penalty). Fraser had a spare ticket for the hertz game on the Saturday and originally offered it to my dad, who told him to 'bugger off'! So I said I'd go provided it cost me phuck all. Well, without boring you with all the random details, First Division Airdrie beat them 1-0 and John Robertson got sent off! I actually missed the goal as I was daein' a pish at the time. It's probably just as well, cos I think I might have given the game away. I managed to annoy one scumbo in my vicinity by commenting that I thought hertz had erred by selling Kenny Black to the Diamonds!

The funniest thing was this one rabid looking scumbo, complete with Whitburn and Blackburn HMSC bar scarf, turning round and addressing the entire hertz end as 'phucking Hibby bastards' for not singing. One of his mates put him arm round him and gave him a cuddle at that point. I've often wondered if he (I don't know him from Adam) was the jambo who famously greeted on a live radio phone-in. Hope so.

When we got back into Glasgow city centre (living in the genteel weegie outpost of Bearsden then, oooooooooooohhhhhhhhhh, the banter!) we went for a couple of pints before the old man picked us up, pissing himself laughing at my uncle!

And lastly in March 2002 Fraser came up for a weekend, declining my kind offer that he stay at ma wee flat in Parlia-Mental Street, staying in a hotel instead. As I was working in the Vicky on the Saturday night I couldn't go to Tannadice (Hibs won 2-1, Arpinon and O'Connor, Sat 23rd) so I went to Swynie with him and watched, sitting on my hands, as St Johnstone went 3 up inside half an hour! hertz even missed a penalty in the second half!

So thank you, Feart of Madlithuanian, you may smell like a gypsy hoor, you may look like blood on a turd, you may have Carstairs-sectioning delusions, you may stain the toilet bowl of Scotland's capital, you may play football so horrible and ugly it would scare the Elephant Man, but your terminal shatitude has brought me much pleasure.

Long may it continue.

I support Liverpool FC and Fiorentina.
I go usually twice per year at Anfield.
I went to Franchi( Florence stadium) when I was young( Actually it was my first team). I bought season ticket for 4years.
After 2003 for a couple of reason I've stopped to go to any italian stadium so I nowadays I just watch results and if it is good I'm happy.

ACTION to remedy the poor financial state of the SPL is required or Scottish football will fall into "a downward spiral", according to the annual report into the game's health.
PricewaterhouseCoopers' 21st Financial Review of Scottish Premier League Football reveals the 12 top-flight clubs made a collective loss of �22 million during the 2008-09 season, compared to a profit of �23m during the previous 12 months.

With the recession starting to bite, net debt among the SPL clubs rose by �11m to �99m, with income falling by 15 per cent from the 2008-09 record high of �198m to �167m in 2009-10.

David Glen, author of the report, said: "In a nutshell, the SPL cannot compete financially (with England and Europe]. It is simply unable to match the transfer fees or wage demands of the top talent needed to be competitive on an international platform and, with it currently unable to generate a sufficient audience to attract the major media contracts enjoyed in other leagues, opportunities for investment are slipping away.

"The lack of, and uncertainty over, levels of income simply do not create a sound platform for investors or banks. Worryingly, unless action is taken now, it could be an increasingly downward spiral for the SPL."

Glen calls for clubs to nurture home-grown talent with a view to selling on players. The report also highlights falling attendances, in particular an 11 per cent decline at Celtic and Aberdeen.

Players' wages have fallen by �3m, but eight out of 12 clubs returned a wage-to-turnover ratio in excess of the recommended 60 per cent, in particular Hearts who recorded a 126 per cent ratio. The report said this was "wholly unsustainable in the medium to long term".

Hi guys, got ourselves in a but of a situation. Basically what we have is 2 adult SSC members and 6 child members. 3 of the child members are under 16 so therefore need to have an adult in the order for any tickets for Hampden, however the 2 adults have already booked the multi-match option which means they can't be included in the same order. I have phoned Hampden and they have said they only way to get the 3 under 16s tickets is to find a spare adults membership number.

I know it's a long shot, but I was wondering if there is anyone on here with an adult membership for the SSC that they will not be using for the Spain game in October. Any help would be hugely appreciated.

The wrong kids are playing the game if you compare us ot the continent. When I was young there was a broad spectrum of kids playing the game. It's almost exclusively thick neds now that play. I think that puts off a lot of the ore intellligent kids who might be forced to play in boys clubs with people that they hate, or that might even give them hassle.

These kids end up indoors playing football games on their computer instead.

The kids who do play football in boys clubs are harrangued from the sidelines by angry parents spitting venom, are subject to some pretty "robust" challanges. Al this contributes to the games undesirability for the more cerebral young contender.

In my day the more cerebral kids would play together in parks near their houses, but that appears to have died out.

We need to have a technique based football coaching system with the onus on protection for the talented players, ann none of this "get right intae them" mentality that so cruelly afflicts our game. Spain manage to cope well without having a team of hard men, so it can be done.

In Scotland players like Torres would probably have got fed up at boys club level of being threatened and called a poof all the time by the other players. We need to try and make football more a sport of your Pat Nevins and not Kirk Broadfoots (not that I'm levelling all these accusations on Kirk Broadfoot), as I think that's the way football is going on the continent.

The occasional wee ned in a team is not a problem, but these in the main populate our premier league. I know I couldn't be arsed going to work if I had to sit among a group of brain dead morons.

England have the same problem, but they have a much bigger population which makes the problem less visible. This was highlighted in the recent world cup. The reliance on athleticism without equivalent ball work being done was quite evident.

Players from abroad seem to have a better footballing brain, and I think that's due to the fact that football is played and liked by all parts of the society. In the Uk a large part of the demographic is put off by the people they would have to associate with, if they were to take the trouble to play the game.

The lack of intelligence is obvious in UK payers, they have no vision or foresight when compared to players from abroad (this is why they default to playing direct football). I imagine we are coached on movement, but I think the players do not have sufficient faculties to cogitate. They can probably do drills by rote, but they lack the dynamism to adapt the concept to use it for different circumstances.

Scottish players lack imagination to a massive extent, and if you want prroof, conisder how many Scottish players have played outside the UK in the last few years.

I havent been on the bounce as much as i used to be so please forgive me if this has been mentioned in past threads/posts. If i recall im pretty sure a few Hibs fans have been accused of causing the Aberdeen supporters sheep costume of catching fire which was mostly mentioned on some fellow scottish football teams discussion forums thus making our support look and sound really bad..well i hope they see this and take back the slating they gave our support as it was infact a fan of Aberdeen FC that did this terrible thing to the poor lad. I feel really sorry for the guy this happened to hope nothing like this ever ever happens again it must have been really scary for other passengers traveling home on that train. Just thought i would let you all know about this.

The bloke is beyond corrupt, he has a deal with the Sun where he sells "exclusives" for a mint, he has taken backhanders from certain agents for years, backstabbed his old mate Billy Bonds to get the West Ham job the list goes on.
