This story is a pile of pish. A Community Support Officer has slabbered a lot of shite and surprise, surprise, the Met Office has no record of the incident.
Sounds to me like a CSO who isn't even a real copper has shouted his mouth off. It is not assault to take a photo of someone so the press need not worry. There is no criminal law that stops us taking photos of people in public places. If you're using the photo commercially you need the subject to sign a model release form. Photographing someone to the point of invading their privacy can be construed as harassment, not assault and it needs to have happened on at least two different occasions. Totally fed up with papers filling peoples' heads with shite just to make a story. No wonder our society is so shockingly ill-informed. |
