Is it in the publics interest to know if a death was a murder?

Read this being debated in a Scotsman piece. In any enquiry, size irrelevant, is it in the publics interest to know if a death was a murder?

I believe all details should be disclosed. Is my attitude of 'dinny give a flying fuck' influencing my belief though?

Got a link, K?

I think it definitely is in the public interest, especially if the murderer is still at large. The arguments against must be based on protecting the rights of individuals against the greater public interest, and I think the latter is more important in the case of serious crime.

Sorry C. I spent the best part of 5mins in the Mercat loo last night reading the clipping stuck up.
