The Chemical Bros must be the most pedestrian remixers in the world. Dunno why they even bothered.

Surley Fat Boy Slim is slightly worse than the Chemical Bros. And DJ Premier just doesnt even try,same bloody beat structure for 99% of all his remixes.Never really got the hype around the Chemicals

Hip Hop but has remixed pretty much everyone in "urban" music. FBS has to be the most overrated guy around. His remixes are just wank and his productions are lazy sampling at its best,he even samples other dj's sctatches on his records-sucker DJ.

The only reason the term "Big Beat" was coined around him was because he has zero credibility in House Music.

Just looked up "Big Beat" on wiki and it says

compressed breakbeats at moderate tempos (usually between 90 to 140 beats per minute

140BMP = moderate!! That's a nose bleed tempo for boy racers and the like..

OK I'm getting it now, the stripped down version you posted is better than the one with all that wibble wobble at the start ( I didn't reach the end). The Wibble wobble seems to me to be there just for the sake of it.

Bit of a change for Oasis though - a further step away from the Quoasis tag. I for one am impressed.

Speaking as someone who has never bought an Oasis record but has only heard them when other people/the radio has played them (i.e. a fuck of a lot) I think they had it down pat with their first record. If they had gotten themselves an ecstacy habit back then instead of going headlong into cociane binging (which kills any edge an artist has) they could have ruled the world. Instead of that what were good ideas on their later records were turned into mirey splodgy sloggy dirges - cocaine is a shit idea for musicians.

i believe the chemicals success is mostly down to the fact they were white and looked like students.

I heard them DJ years ago, they played "weird" - mostly I find DJ's who play "weird" do so cos they can't play "good".

Another lot I saw DJ around the same time were Basement Jaxx, among the worst I ever saw. No attempt at mixing they actually allowed the record to run out (silence) then put another one on. Long before their re-invention as a Pop mind you. Most of those lot sell their arses to the NME, which on that scene is just sad.
