Non-Competitive football for kids
Our local boys FA, in their wisdom, have decided it's better if our boys don't play to win. Oh no. Better that a Sunday competition consists of being split into two leagues, playing each other, no scores recorded, and no play-offs. What jolly good fun. I love getting out my bed at 7am Sunday to organise 3x6(18) 5-7yos into teams, look after them all day and wash their strips so that they can have a wee kick about. Hoo-rah! By jove, Hoo-rah!
Then at the end when they ask me if they won, I have to reply, "...eh...ask...eh...I....eh.you all wom...ehh..that ask thet clown over there", as I run and hide my head in shame. After the opposition have realised they don't need to win & think it's a laugh just to kick the ball away all game because they get medals whatever. Ha ha SFA, ha ha. That worked. Or kick the opposition players all day because they all get medals whatever. Ha ha SFA, ha ha, that worked. Or sit down or try to score own goals because it doesn't matter if they win or not. Ha ha SFA, ha ha, that worked. Surely sport actually means competition? Wouldn't ol' Olypmus be a bit concerned? Why bother running if it doesn't matter who runs fastest? Why bother competeting when we get paid whatever (Lithuanians of Edinburgh take note.)? Admittedly I manage a team that wins but I could, in all fuckin honesty, you clowns at the SFA, teach them more if they lost! Ha ha, SFA, ha ha. No wonder feeble Euro competitors like Italy and france put us out. Ha ha SFA, ha ha.

Re: Non-Competitive football for kids
Its been like this down here for years.
Non competitive until you go U13 - Edinburgh has operated this for as long as my kids have been involved and my eldest is U15 this year. So it isnt a new phenomenon. Don't really see the big deal to be honest To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 5 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. Certainly didnt affect the development, hunger or desire to win.
