Public sector pensions deficit

I read somewhere recently that the public sector pensions defecit is sitting at a staggering 1.2 trillion pounds :yikes

it's bad enough that GB has wrecked the private sector economy - gordon's personal legacy to me is i may well have to work five years longer to retire on a lot less than i would have been before his wrecking ball hit. no doubt many others here are in a similar boat.

but this future debt is, which as i understand it - happy to be corrected - is not in anyway underwritten, but just an IOU the govt of 2030 has to make good on somehow, is bloody mindblowing. add to that the PFI obligations future pms will need to meet. this twat has hocked the nations future. he may turn out to be the worst chancellor as well as the worst pm of all time.

It's part of his plan to reduce the level of inequality between Europe and sub-saharan Africa.

As Blur once sang.......

The Universal

This is the next century
Where the Universal's free
You can find it anywhere
Yes, the future's been sold

Every night we're gone
And to karaoke songs
How we like to sing along
'Though the words are wrong

It really, really, really could happen
Yes, it really, really, really could happen
When the days they seem to fall through you
Well, just let them go

No-one here is alone
Satellite's in every home
Yes, the Universal's here
Here for everyone
Every paper that you read
Says tomorrow's your lucky day
Well, here's your lucky day

It really, really, really could happen
Yes, it really, really, really could happen
If the days they seem to fall through you
Well, just let them go

Live for the now,There might not be a future.......

We dont want to eat over-priced reheated stale pies and pay £2 quid for a bit of powder and warm water in a tiny cup. We dont want to sit behind pillars (Well at certain grounds it's ok). We dont want to watch guys who cant control a football.

But that's what we get........

Only if they are transferable with low/no early redemption penalty and low up front changes (I was charges £999 to renew my 2 year fixed rate - thats a lot of income to the bank over 25 years).

If they packaged it with current account/credit card, etc... it may be worth the banks while but I can't see there's much it for them otherwise.
