Has Blair gone completely off his rocker ?

Quote:
Tony Blair launches his Faith Foundation in New York today, saying that he wants to spend most of his remaining years ensuring that religion is seen as a force for good in the world.
The new organisation, for which he is seeking hundreds of millions of pounds of charitable funding, will focus on developing better understanding between faiths as well as fostering concrete action on fighting poverty and disease. “In the end, this will be what I dedicate a very large part of my life to,” he told The Times yesterday.
Times

Good luck with that Tony.

Maybe the hypocrticical twat should have have practiced what he preaches.

could be argued that as its Old Testament it has no relevance to Christians, after all Jebus did say "forget all that has come before, i am the new covenant" (or words to that effect). Turn the other cheek or thou shall have nothing to do with evil do'ers would be more apt.Oh and he should remember the whole needle/camel/heaven thing.

one suspects blair may have joined the catholic church as a prerequiste step towards making a pitch for the papacy.

True . Maybe we will get a Blairarene bible.

'Blessed are the warmakers, for they shall obtain the kingdom of oil' - Bush 9.11

"And did the Lord begat Leo , due to the Blessed Lady not packing her pill". - Mirror 23.2

"And verily did the Lord smite Kelly, calling upon the Demon Alistarius from the pit" - Butler 13.2

One suspects he probably sees this as an achievable goal.

Funny what fame and power do to folk.

to be fair, blair was doing his job as prime minister. you'd be first to complain if his religion got in the way of that. it was blair pm that went to war.

If he was doing his job as PM , would he have followed this religious lunatic?

"Mr Bush told him and Mahmoud Abbas, former prime minister and now Palestinian President: "I'm driven with a mission from God. God would tell me, 'George, go and fight those terrorists in Afghanistan.' And I did, and then God would tell me, 'George go and end the tyranny in Iraq,' and I did."

And God also told him

"Verily my Son, Thou shalt water board until the endeth of thine days, and refaineth from the golf course".

Goodness no.. It was about oil reserves, and Cheney's desire to have them.

Religious folk like Bush and Blair like to use a load of shite like "god" as a means to deflect their own personal guilt. Like the child killers that hear "voices".

that's the most curious take on it i've heard for a while. usually religion is blamed for instilling guilt not assuaging it. still whatever suits the argument.

myself i think blair and bush are politicians doing what politicians have always done.
