'Emos' to march on daily mail hq
possibly the least intimidating mob in history:
BBC NEWS | Magazine | Rock cult or nice kids that do their homework? i still don't get what is the difference between this lot and goths. i guess i'm just past it, but they look indistinguishably twattish to me. i gather one lot is more 'emotional' or summat, although i thought goths were always rather hysterical - look at reformed goff colr for example ![]() ps quality quote from some 'emo' in the article: "I suppose emo style is meant to be about standing out, looking different - even if all the other emo kids are dressed the same as you."

Re: 'Emos' to march on daily mail hq
i've just looked up the daily mail article i presume they're complaining about - this much maligned organ doesn't seem like a wrong un to me:
"Some pretty terrible Emo poetry is offered on websites. A cartoon of two Emos has a bubble which says: 'What rhymes with razor blade?'" ![]() "Although Goths are from the same family tree as punks, they are a lot less fun to be with. While I loved punk for its energy, Goths were too bloodless to lift a finger." ![]() "The wondrous thing about being an adult is that you have so much more to worry about that you stop striking poses and get on with it. Unless you are an Elder Goth - in which case you have fashion on your side and everybody else against you." ![]() EMO cult warning for parents | Mail Online |

Re: 'Emos' to march on daily mail hq
They're getting the shite knocked out them by the punks and goths in Mexico City lately. The city centre has pretty much become a no go area for emo's. The punks and goth's claim its because the emo's have ripped off their fashion.
I think its because they won't fight back myself.

Re: 'Emos' to march on daily mail hq
They're all just wimps not willing to go the whole hog and thrust themselves right on the outskirts of society like goths, a halfway house I guess!
And when did the music start becoming know as emo? In my day this was know as "nu-metal", though I've never heard this category used for about 5 years. Sounds pretty much the same to me. Though bands like Panic at the Disco and Fallout Boy are bordering on boyband pop. And do they all still hang about Cockburn Street?

Re: 'Emos' to march on daily mail hq
To be honest, there's very little to distinguish emo's from goths these days. The complete lack of any decent goth music has seen the trends blend together. Oddly enough, Joy Division are an extremely popular band amongst the emo kids and Ian Curtis t-shirts are fairly common.
Over and out, Emo Bri (not Brian Eno...) Oh, and at first glance I thought the title read "Elmo's to march on Daily Mail hq"!!! That would have been interesting. I think I need to stop with the afternoon cocktails! |

Re: 'Emos' to march on daily mail hq
I've heard that all emo's think that Colin Nish hasn't really produced the goods yet for Hibs... I really don't think that you and I would get on Shearer! Who's your favourite band? I'm gonna guess Kasabian, Arctic Monkeys, Oasis...
