Berlin
Anyone got any good recommendations for places to go, things to do in Berlin? I'm off there tomorrow and open to any suggestions.

Theres all the history obviously - would recommend inparticular the old stasi HQ in Lichtenberg which has been turned into a museum. It also seems like you can get anywhere, from anywhere, in the city in half an hour cos the public transport is so good. There are loads of good pubs/clubs and cheap enough restaurants in the Prenzlauerberg Area east of the centre. If yer out for a big night you should try and get to the Berghain club in Friedreichshain. I was there on a thursday night and the place didnt kick anyone out until half eleven the next morning. Thought the people were sound as fuck. Cannae wait to go back myself - have a good one. |

Re: Berlin
Berlin is superb. I can thoroughly recommend the bars and clubs in East Kreuzberg. Not far from there is Tempelhof Airport. Well worth a visit to see an awesome (if somewhat creepy) example of Nazi architecture.
Also worth a visit is the transparent dome of the Reichstag. It gets really busy during the day but queues are modest early in the morning and late evening. If you have a bit of time, Potsdam is a beautiful city just to the South West of Berlin with some stunning lakes and buildings. Finally, the Berlin Wall Documentation Centre will tell you all you need to know about life in the divided city. |

I'd love to go back. If you like classical music a trip to the Berlin Phil is worth a go (I went to see the building). Recommend the museums in the old east (I bet they've even filled in the bullet holes now).

Re: Berlin
Thanks for the help, can't wait to get there. I was there a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it but will get more of a chance to explore more this time round.
