Levein

Got to say even though he is a Harry Potter lookalike and a Hearts c**t but he sure gave the officials it tight today and quite rightly so.

And De Virus's celebration was priceless.

Goes to show some things in Scottish football never change, expect the same treatment for us tomorrow. Old Firm Bastards

Agreed.

How dare Dundee Utd expect a legitimate penalty.

Re: Levein

Well, seems refs have been poor today.
Rangers V DU - Legitimate goal and penalty not given.
Motherwell V Sheep - Legit goal not given to sheep.

With us to play the tims the morn, seems we need to settle for intertoto.

The refereeing situation has gone back 20 years...

Was talking to someone who was telling me Hibs where playing for the championship against the Huns one time and the Hun player stamped on the Hibs players head and never even got a yellow in a clear red card situation....Forsyth?...

The referee situation is going to continue for years to come and something needs to be done about it!!

I really think he should have, that would've made such a huge impact and really would've made the World look at what is happening in the SPL with Old Firm bias.

It has to be pointed out that no matter what way you look at it the Ref is either corrupt or inept and they're both pretty bad tbf!

Don't know if this is the same incident, but John Brown stamped on Willie Miller's head in front of the dug-outs, and the referee didn't have a problem with it.

They do it in other sports but it really shouldn't be an issue.

It has been going on for years with it being justified by "ah well, the big crowds at celtc park & hunbrox can intimidate a referee".

This is a bullshit excuse because it happens at other grounds when the infirm play there.

unfortunatly some things never change. the huns get all the breaks. clear penalty and a ligit goal. look at the cis cup final as well with a clear penalty and the semi with the crabs hand ball although least it was against the yams.

Today was beyond belief, even for scottish football. A clear goal, stonewall penalty and a head butt all ignored is a joke.

However, if you think that was bad, wait until you see the decisions Celtic get tomorrow.

The referee tomorrow is a Hibs fan

So no doubt the Celtc fans will be looking for a conspiracy theory more than some of us

Had it been the Aberdeen Willie Miller, the ref would boot him in the baws for good measure.

English refs are no better. Every week there are quite remarkable decisions given or not given down there. The only difference is we neither dwell on them too long (because they are simply an Alan Hansen rant on MotD or an Andy Gray moan on Sky) or (probably more importantly) we dont directly feel the impact.

The Dons Willie Miller blummin thought he was the referee

He was Fergie's forerunner for RoyKeane/Ferdinand/any other intimidatory player in his teams down the years

I find it hilarious that you're probably right. A side challenging for Europe visit someone going for the title and are absolutely screwed by a referee. So "to balance it up", we all expect the exact same thing to happen tommorrow! So goes this absolute joke of a league.

I think that they should just introduce an appeal system similar to what they have put into tennis. Let each side in a game have 3 appeals to a video ref and let them decide. You keep your appeals if you're right, but lose them if you're wrong. It can only be asked for by the captain who can alert the ref who lets play run until the ball goes out of play. You can't appeal after a decision for something before (ie you can't say "you've given a penalty, but someone nudged me before I'm appealing") but you can appeal a decision when it's made. The more times it is shown that a ref gets it wrong, the easier it would be to stop them refereeing games and having a negative impact on the game. Let the retired refs do the video reffing, so at least that way you wouldn't lose their experience from the game.

If that system was in place, McCurry would have been out of football years ago because he's always been fucking shite.

This is something I've never been for previously because of the divide it creates between the places where this is possible in the top leagues and lower level football, but I've had enough of it after this season. When I watch a game, and even though I start by wanting a team to lose to help my own team, and end up wanting them to win because they've been so badly treated by a ref, that's just wrong and it's making a mockery of the sport.

They might be no better, and they will make mistakes. But by bringing in officials from down south, it should reduce the amount of blantant bias shown to the ugly sisters on a weekly basis.

McCurry is just another corrupt official, helping Rangers along and scared of the mindless blue masses around him. It's been the same since I was a wee lad watching football in 70's and it will never change.
