Obama and Me

Went to see his Dallas Rally today. TV does not do him justice. Electric and if I had a vote, he'd be getting it.

On the way home in the car, my mate received a 'phone call from his manager (he was/is in a band which once had some national fame over here).

Obama's campaign guy had called wanting said mate to attend an intimate meet & greet with the Man himself. Said mate being (off-stage) a very shy retiring type pleaded with me to go with him.

So tomorrow, I will be attempting to educate Obama on all things Hibs. Will do his campaign the power of good I would think.

Hibbies are truly everyfeckingwhere.

Good stuff.

Potentially, the most powerful man in the world could be a Hibby.

Obama is probably going to hit your mate up for money.

So, can you divulge the band name ?

Sure. They're called Flickerstick. Won a national 'Battle of the Bands' thing some years ago.

That would be brilliant. Don't get shot by his security when trying to put the scarf round his neck though.

Re: Obama and Me

Slight tangent but one of my mates is currently living in NY. Big guy, as white as only Scottish people can be, and a shaved head. Came out some boozer pished and seen Al Sharpton and lurched towards him. Al Sharptons security folk apparently were somewhat nervous at this point, until he shouts "gottae keep fighting the power Al" and goes up and starts chatting away to him

That is awesome like. Obama is the man and IMHO is a thousand times better than that old trout CLinton. Better values better policies better lookin MRS (Not that Hilary has a Mrs am now refering to her) And hopefully will bring some stability to the world when he gets elected. Unlike tht prick Bush.

PS get him in a hibs scarf and we will have bragging rights for hopefully a few years to come.

Re: Obama and Me

Well, it turns out that my idea of 'intimate setting' and Obama's are slightly different. There was hundreds there and the closest I got to the man was a tv screen. Although I suppose he's used to bigger crowds than me.

He didn't hang around. Suppose he had to prepare for a debate with a bint called Hillary something.

It was interesting to see the machinations fairly close-up though. Got to speak to his Campaign guy for Texas. It's so sophisticated and they're almost anthropological regarding their voter research.

Actually Hillary is speaking in downtown Fort Worth today (about 5 mins drive from my house) so I may well do a compare and contrast.

Sorry I couldn't get closer.
