haven't mentioned me old pal pol for a while, but this article is a spectacular nadir even by her standards.
the bloggers response is utterly savage - both the right wing trolls that inhabit the guardian site, and the proper guardianistas are both getting fired in to what is such a complete subordination of her role as commentator into naked government propaganda. honest to feck, i think i need only quote the subheading, to make the point: "Brown and Darling come out of the Northern Rock debacle looking assured." |

I don't get you guys about Northern rock. I was talking to a very senior banker yesterday who was clear that the actions were essential to sustain the banking system. Now i don't like it any more than anybody else, but would you really just have let it go bust?
