Favorite tracks are

My Hi-Matic
and
Today

From Wiki:

"...Isolée is Microhouse artist Rajko Müller. Isolée is a minimalist house producer whose music is reminisent of indie electronic pop music of the early eighties and ambient techno from a decade on. Isolée is credited with creating the very first microhouse record to reach the club charts. Isolée's 2000 album, Rest, containing the hit, was arguably the first microhouse full-length..."

From cokemachineglow:

"...Joining them in their elevated ranks is Isolée, whose We Are Monster is likely the first above-par, truly IDM album this year. Working with full, nice house grooves, and creating more than enough developing details in each of the album's ten tracks, Rajko Muller has crafted (and I mean crafted) a set that hits the genre-bullseye with plenty of skill. If it's not a truly inspiring album, it's nevertheless undeniably impressive..."

listening to My Hi-Matic now. It's not bad. Can't help but think though that given Rossz csillag... and the entire Analord series had already come out by then that year, calling it 'the first above-par, truly IDM album this year' seems a little bit odd.

Have you heard the James Holden LP by the way? If you're into minimal house, to my view it's the best thing the genre's ever produced

We Are Monster came out in 2005, was Analord not 2006? Anyhoo, I think that review gives it's own definition of IDM saying that they don't (personally) class Twin/Pusher etc. as IDM. Not that genre really matters, it's all just music to me. I'd still agree that it's a weird statement.

Also, I wouldn't say it's anything new either, but it's a nice album. Today is a bit different. Well, it's a bit different to find it on an album like this.

Which one? Have you heard the Nathan Fake one? quite melodic, I'll find the album name later, it's the album with Charlie's House on it. There was a remix of it on one of the Boogybytes comps.

Yeah, right enough - Should have actually read the review first

(from reading it though I think he probably needs to take more ecstasy and go to more clubs before proclaiming what can't be danced to - never mind though.) Oh, and the Analord EPs were drip-fed in the first half of 05 - i think the CD compilation thing might have been 06 though.

I've been trying to find Today, all I've got so far is a 30-second sample on last.fm. Seems fairly mild-mannered and ambienty - is this a bad choice of sample I'm hearing?

The Idiots Are Winning - it's his only non-mixed release to date I thought? Anyway, I'll check out Nathan Fake

I always find it funny when folk say certain things can't be danced to. I'll feckin' dance about whacking my hands of a table!
The review is by a tube, I think we agree. I'll mibby do my own reviews some day...

Yeah, the whole track is worth a listen. Again, it's not groundbreaking just nice shit and unexpected as far as the rest of the record goes.

Will check it out, I like House but I'm not an aficianado. Snoots on here is very into his House, old skool Detroit, Soulful and that.

Is this Micro-House?

I like some of the minimalist stuff, although the genre names grow ever more ridiculous. I'll look it up.

Anyone heard Kenny Dope's tracks "Monopoly" or "No-Hook"? True electro-house.

Reading the wiki stuff on Isolée was my first exposure to microhouse. Not sure why folk feel the need to keep creating new genres.

Will check the Kenny Dope stuff out...
