Anyone done this before? Anyone doing it this year?

I done it in 2005. The last few milles will be a killer but get training now and build up to the race by following a marathon training plan.

As marathons go it's easier than Snowdon but more lonely than London due to the small number of participants and local support. It's actually pretty flat, in fact I think it's classed as predominately flat as there is more downhill than uphill during the course.

Cheers guys. From looking at the route on the website it seems to start on Waterloo Place then heads along London Rd, Lochend, Portobello then out of the city alltogether! Ends up going out as far as Longniddry before cutting back and finishing at Musselburgh racecource!

I will print off a training guide and try and stick to it! Did the great scottish run (half marathon) last year in a pretty good time, but was completely fcuked at the end of it and couldn't have run another km!

My new years resolution was to give up the drink for 3 month. That was proving extrodinarily boring so entered this year's marathon to give my soberness some sort of purpose.
Now I'm bricking it as well as sober and bored... Got more dosh, legs like a bear, wee'er man boobs and a distinct lack of Harold Bishop chins though so gimme a woop! woop!
