it's interesting how such sex discrimination is allowed. i've got some book called the death of reason or something, which explores this. as it points out - black people are more likely to be victims of crime, but we'd be up in arms if there insurance terms differed as a result. there are other examples.

basically prejudice is entrenched in our society, it's just that it's the pc prejudices that prevail.

Someone in the insurance trade once tried to explain to me how an insurance company's actuary type can make any insurance pool cheaper for a particular group of people, but this will be at the cost of others.

I reckon they can price their policies cheaper for woman in a certain age bracket, driving cars in a particular range of insurance group etc.

In any case, according to these customers the service is Colin Nish, which their punters will only put up with for 12 months and then switch back to Direct Line.

According to a quick Google search, they can get away with it because they both insure men as well as female customers (who are, for some reason, portrayed on the Diamond TV advert as being secretaries).

Saying that, if someone drove into my motor I'd rather pay for the damage myself than show them a Sheila's Wheels cover note.
