Greetings from Edinburgh, Scotland

We, the supporters of Heart of Midlothian Football Club wish to draw your attention to the plight we find ourselves in.

Vladimir Romanov bought our club in 2005, saving a proud Scottish institution from almost certain extinction.

We were, and still continue to be, very grateful for his timely intervention as this is a football club that means so much to so many of us.

Mr Romanov's reign as club owner, as many of you will know, started off in the best possible manner and after a few weeks of his first season in charge we were flying high at the top of the Scottish league.

This was very short lived and since then Mr Romanov has treated our club in a manner that many of us find very worrying and disturbing. He is now slowly but surely dismantling our club and making it very weak by his own actions.

In the last two years Mr Romanov has sacked a very good manager for no apparent reason. Involved himself in the selection of our clubs players despite not being qualified to do so. He has dis-respected our club, our fans and our players with many inexplicable and bad decisions. He refuses to discuss and explain things to us and despite our continued support for him and the best advice of true football people he continues to do things that harm our club. We have pleaded with him to stop and allow football people to run the football club. He does not even give us the courtesy of a reply or acknowledge our concerns. Some good things have also happened in Mr Romanov's time at the club and for this reason we want him to continue to be our owner.

But, we are very worried now that if Mr Romanov continues with what he is doing to our fine club, it will not be long before we have no club left to support or the club will not be recognisable as the fine traditional Scottish footballing instituion it once was. This year the club is as weak as it has been for many years.

We urgently need to find a way to stop Mr Romanov from destroying our club and seek to make you aware of our problems so that you might be able to support us from within Lithuania.

I doubt it will achieve much at all. If there's one thing His Vladness has proved, it's his resistance to common sense, logic or anything he doesn't come up with himself.
