Just watched it and would have to say was pretty powerfull stuff, should be shown in every school so that we can make sure it can never happen again.

Has the world learned from what happend in these camps? I think not! and to be honest, as sad as it sounds, I don't we will anytime soon. Darfur is a good example of where the "western world" as a whole hasn't learned from what happend in places like Belsen.

The bit that got to me was the fact that 18 days after they relieved the camp, approximately 200 of the inmates were still dying every day! (even with the best will in the world, and rations that were supposedly good for people suffering from malnutrition!)

Id dont agree that remembering the past helps us in the present/the future. One has to remember that situations are never the same. The mass slaughter of the Holocaust will never be repeated in the same way. It has however happened on a similar scale and still goes on today. Why should this film be shown in every school? Shouldn't students learn to tolerate one another/be driven from ignorance and be given un understanding of the problems which affect us today?

History may be a lesson from the past, but it's no model for the future. Darfur/Cambodia/Rwanda etc etc 'lest we forget'??
