Mulholland Drive

Watched it last night and feckin' loved it. Wonky, sexy, weird & surreal. Pretty much the perfect mix for a movie, in my opinion.

Highly recommended.

No bother.

By the way, don't read the wikipedia entry or the imdb one either as I think they give too much away.

It's tasteful though...

erm, well, it's to my taste...

It's not full of it either but there is one great scene when it kicks off. Say no more.

Yep, but very enjoyable. A good way to watch his (Lynch) films are to not get to caught up in trying to figure it out. Watch it, enjoy it then think about it.

I've seen it but some time ago so I don't remember too much about it. But it would be a bit mad coz it's made by the David Lynch aka the mad filmmaker. Other fine Lynch works include The Elephant Man, Blue Velvet, Wild at Heart, Lost Highway and the Straight Story. There's also Eraserhead which isn't really fine but it is damn freaky.

Re: Mulholland Drive

Different style of movie but I've just seen 'Michael Clayton' in the cinema and thought it was pretty good.

Sort of like The Firm (legal drama-ish) but very well made, and the performance from George Clooney is pretty amazing. Fairly slow moving, though.

For amnesia type movies it's hard to beat Memento... Guy Pearce (used to be in Neighbours) plays a guy that can only remember what's happened to him on each day...

Every morning he wakes up and knows feck all... He comes up with ways round this... but all is not as it may appear (saying no more)

See this at a cinema if you like, however it makes more sense once you've seen it all the way through to get it on DVD which has the option of showing the scenes in chronological order which does definitely help with working out what's going on. Watched this with a mate once and we talked for hours afterwards trying to explain all the bits and what had happened...

Worth a try I think.

Memento is a great film and although I have the DVD I've still not got round to watching it in cronological order. Myself, the missus & a mate talked for about an hour too after watching that the first time.

Not a patch on David Lynch though!

Aye, very feckin' good show. Weird that they've never released season two on region 2 dvd. You can only get region 1.

I've got Fire Walk With Me which ties in to Twin Peaks. Great movie.

One of the best TV shows ever made imo. Absolutely fantastic in so many ways. Hoping that the 2nd season gets released on region2 DVD some time soon otherwise it's gonna mean me buying a multi-region player or getting my PS2 chipped.

Fire Walk With Me was a good prequel, but lacked the humour of the series and seemed to focus on the dark side a bit too heavily for my liking. Still very good though and answered a few of the TV series' questions without stopping the 'what the hell was that all about' thought processes which added to the TV series' appeal.

Yes, would have to put Wild at Heart down as one of my Lynch favourites. Funnily enough I only realised how great it was on second (or third

) viewing. The Elephant Man is also right up there as one of the most powerful and unusual films I've ever seen. I'd recommend Lost Highway if you like Wild at Heart or Blue Velvet and for those who prefer more slow moving and relaxing cinema The Straight Story is hugely under-rated as Lynch surprises again with a mellow road movie.

Twin Peeks was huge around 1990 but I must say I never really got into it at the time. I don't have a lot of patience with series and maybe the fact everyone used to go on about it put me off a bit. I suppose it's on DVD so perhaps I should give it a go.
