Jambos

HEARTS' preparations for the new season have been seriously disrupted by a split between the players and Eduard Malofeev, an increasingly influential member of the club's backroom team.

Malofeev, a close ally of majority shareholder Vladimir Romanov, has introduced unpopular training drills at the club's pre-season base in Germany, and the players are concerned that his methods will leave the squad poorly prepared for the new campaign.

Craig Gordon, the Hearts captain, voiced his fears yesterday over the players' lack of fitness and claimed the team was being "overrun" by opponents.

Malofeev apparently showed them his six pack - well it was more like a 80 shilling keg!!

Re: Jambos

They've become boring. Watching their death has been enjoyable but i'm glad they are entering the latter stages...

Let's hope Malofeev can continue his previous form into the first game of the season.

Don't laugh too soon.

As many people were so keen to point out when we got beat in Austria, friendly results don't matter.

I personally think they'll still do us, first game of the Season. They will just batter us as they usually do and unfortunately from what I've seen we've not signed any combative types to counter this.

I think there's quite a few sides in the SPL who will look to just batter us next season..

In truth i don't think it would be too hard...

I totally agree. For a while now we've been DESPERATE for an animal in the middle of the park. We'll certainly miss Scott Brown's guile and aggression against Hearts, and as you rightly say, we'll get battered and most probably defeated.

Then, in the aftermath we'll complain about how we were cheated out of victory by a Hearts team who just kicked us off the park. Unfortunately it seems that we will not be buying said ball-winner, so will just have to put up with the hammer-throwing, long-ball merchants at Tynie.

Agree, and a lot of the new players will not be prepared for such an aggressive fast game. I am not optimistic at all.
