Lincoln is a nice visit and the cathedral is an amazing building. Did you go to Lincoln castle nearby too? Love that old part of town, Steep Hill and all. Nice little restaurants, pubs and speciality shops.

Re: The Cathedral Thread

Spent the week in the cotswalds last week and although i didn't visit any Cathedrals, England has a few belters. York, Salisbury, Wells and Gloucester are all worth a visit. There were two highlights last week though:
Warwick castle(for the 2nd time) still brilliant

and

Blenheim palace, 1st time and won't be the last, awesome!!

Warwick Castle is a superb visit. the admision is quite expensive but you get a lot for your money. It's a full day out. Warwick itself is a smart little town too.

York Minster is just incredible, as is the city of York in general. My very favourite English city - maybe because it reminds me of Edinburgh a little?

6hours in Warwick for £16 wasn't too bad, agree with ye about York though. Right opposite the minster, in one of the wee lanes, is the UKs finest bookshop spent many hours in there!
