Tory Vision

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main...cameron118.xml

David Cameron will deliver the most important speech of his leadership today when he sets out a vision for Britain built on the twin pillars of opportunity and security for all.

Twin columns of wind and pish more like. Is he the most vapid Tory leader yet? He seems to have decided that nobody will vote for them when they articulte their views so he's trying to get elected by saying nothing at all.

The strategy is do what Blair did in '94, '95, '96 and hopefully like him in '97..

Difference is Labour isn't quite in the mess of the Tories in they years. Blair did lead and change his Party whereas he isn't. And GB is no Johnny Major..

Cameron must be very concerned at the weekend opinion poll results of him Vs GB..

Tony Blair was not an empty barrell - he had a philosophy and an approach. His thrid way was a development of a long running political strategy first put forward by Harold McMillan. Blair knows hid politics and very diliberately positioned himself. Can you say that about Cameron. If he thinks he's aping Blair, he hasn't been paying much attention over the past 10 years.

In a way, its a pity because the Tories have quite a good front bench team but no obvious leader and their party is dominated by pensioners who read the Daily Mail.

My point was the perception of what Blair did '94-'97.

I agree with your point. However, i'm not so convinced they do have a talented front bench.

Six months ago i thought that a GB led Labour Party was heading for defeat but now i very much doubt it.

The Blair honeymoon lasted 10 years. Cameron's is over within 18 months.

I agree. I thought Brown would struggle against Cameron but I doubt that now. I think Cameron will get duffed up on a weekly basis at PMQs.

I previously thought it would be a close election with Brown just hanging on. I suspect that Brown will seeze the agenda in a couple of weeks and wipe the floor with the Tories.

Any votes on the next Tory leader.

I think Rifkind may well be back.

They'll see it through with Cameron. I wouldn't yet write him off longer term..

Going to be interesting to see what GB does but if he gets off to a good start as i suspect he will he will be tempted to go to the country to get a mandate.

The Tories have no policies byt Labour has no dosh to fight an election..
