Going it alone is probably the best option. If Scotland were succesful would that mean any rebuilding of ER would be paid for by the government?

this would be a great idea. we have 4 years to get a bid in so lets hope its action as well as words. solo bid as well which only increases our chances

How many stadiums will we need and what is the maximum number on one city?

I think its 2 per city. Wasnt Glasgow having 3 stadiums as part of our last bid one of the main reasons our bid was not accepted? Not sure how many we need, I think it might be 8 30,000 plus stadiums. HibeeJibee will know

also if they sell of murrayfield and hampden and make a national stadium to be proud ofnear stirling we could add in celtic park

So thats 2 in Edinburgh, 2 in Glasgow, 1 in Dundee, 1 in Aberdeen. Where would the other 2 come from?

I'd go with that. Hampden's a tip and they got rid of the history when they redeveloped.

Wembley is breathtaking BTW. Best in Europe now.

imagine all those places with 30,000 plus stadiums. would really change the face of scottish football (and a lot of empty seats during the league)

Only 6 are required at a minimum 30k though two from one city is all that is allowed.

Assuming Hampden, Ibrox, Aberdeen, Dundee, new Tynecastle , that would leave another ground to be built elsewhere.

Murrayfield is only a possibility.

Thing is, what with Hampden getting chosen to host major Euro finals I cant see SFA being prepared to get rid of it. seeing as UEFA clearly rates it, then thats probably good for our bid

Now, hotels. Only Edinburgh has the capacity. Even when there's a conference at SECC Glasgow ios booked out well in advance. Where are all these people going to stay?

Agree with what your saying though. If there was any big conference or another untimely event around the time of the hosting everything around central scotland would be fecked.

Is it really only 6 stadiums needed?

Celtic Park, Hampden, Murrayfield, Easter Road, one in Dundee and Pittodrie. Only the last three would need any major work.

Hampden is here for good, both FIFA and UEFA think it's the dog's bollocks. A tremendous heritage too. Only De Kuip, Heysel and Wembley have hosted more European finals.

Was there on Wednesday and the atmosphere was once again superb, as it nearly always is when packed out.

The EUFA finals last for three weeks. Thats it. Then we're left with 30,000 seater stadia that most of the Scottish teams cant fill on a weekly basis and which are liek white elephants for evermore: big, empty, and devoid of all atmosphere when only half fill.
