The Union

If the filth that sat in the South Stand today are representative of the Union, I for one will ensure all my votes go to the Nationalists this election.

Two good reasons for a Nationalist vote then.

Some of us are in favour of independence but can't stand the SNP, In Ireland your stuation was different you were more directly mistreated and when your country did get of its knees it was with a smaller more prosperous European Union.

The huns that wave the union flag are just as likely to vote nationalist as they are to vote a pro union party like labour - we keep making the mistake that their views are rational or thought through. Vote with your head and not your anger.

No they are not. They represent more to do with Scotland in 2007 than the UK in 2007.

This argument drives me potty O'D ! surely the SNP are just a means to an end? in an independent scotland, new parties would emerge, and especially for those inclined to the left there'd be a much greater chance of seeing a form of politics emerge that would be pleasing.

for this reason i've always thought SNP should be single issue, so as not to put people off who would otherwise vote for independence. but in any case, it seems self defeating to me to vote unionists just because you'd face a single term of SNP power at the outset.

before october, you need your february comrades!

re the dobbers - do you really think so. i'm not convinced. i suspect you'd get your highest proportion of working class tories in their ranks. but they'll mostly be labour drones like everyone else. i'd expect them to be underrepresented with the SNP, and overrrepresented with BNP, UKIP and SUP voters.

My stance has always been that independence should not be represented by 1 party but is a cause which can attract cross party support. I probably wont vote for a unionist party but rather one with environmental issues at heart.

In essence the SNP cannot attract the support of all those who believe in Independence as in order to gain power they have to have a programme (at the moment a social democrat one!) which will only gain the votes of those who sympathise with their politics at the time.

Re the huns I could consider your point and look into it further but it would involve talking to some of them and that's a no no.

Utter nonsense and you know it. These people are very representative of the Union and it is similar down south though they are more racial there.

IMO only an independent Scotland can tackle bigotry in this country. Westminster has done absolutely nothing.

Examples apart from a BNP vote that is probably smaller than any mad fascist scum vote anywhere else in mainstream Europe?

So what's the policy of the SNP in this respect?

Looking forward to this answer as who knows you may persuade me of the merit of a SNP vote...

The manifesto for independence isn't out yet. We are still playing for Holyrood in case you weren't aware. Keep your eyes out in 4 years though !

Your other point above re BNP. Since when did all the Rule Brittania types all vote BNP. Many vote Tory ( especially in England ), UKIP and some up here will vote for the new Orange part, the SUP. A huge number don't vote at all in my experience, in fact nearly all of the rabid Unionists I know don't vote.

There's an arguement to be made that "Rule Brittania types" who "Many vote Tory" perhaps only take their English pride and Nationalism a tad too far like many who vote SNP..

I just wish this utter bullshit kind of Nationalist opinion was voiced with more volume to the Scottish electorate..

We are "Governed by a foreign imperial power..". Brilliant.

At the end of the day if there were a thousand of us in a room and we were told to separate into 2 groups ; independence supporters and Union supporters, you would sidle off with the Tories, New Labourites, DUP types, Orangemen, Rangers fans, Fascists, Aristocrats.

I wouldn't
