Heard Mingin Campbell, the 'nice old bloke' leader of the Lib Dems on Radio Scotland this morning being asked if the Lib Dems would enter into a coalition with the SNP if the SNP still intended to hold a referendum on independence.

"Oh no" spluttered Ming, desperately trying to stop his Werther's Original falling out his mouth, "the SNP are about independence and we're not. Under no circumstances can we play a part in delivering independence."

Oh really Ming? Have you really forgotten how you and your unionist chums in Labour harangued the SNP for not getting behind the Constitutional Convention? You didn't care back then Ming, that the "SNP's raision d'etre was independence" (quoting you from this morning). Oh no, you felt the SNP should put that to the side and assist in giving the people of Scotland the opportunity to debate and decide on their constitutional future........within the union of course!

Now however the story changes! F**k the democratic wishes of the people because even if it was to transpire that a sizeable number, even a majority, of Scots desired independence then you will, I quote, "play no part whatsoever in bringing about independence."

You should think of retiring Ming, you're getting forgetful which makes you look almost hypocritical you old unionist fool.

I read today that only those who earn a wage will pay the SNP's new 'council tax'. That means if I won £45,000,000 on the euro lottery I wouldn't pay a penny yet the 17 year old single mum cleaning the floor in Tesco's will have to give over 3-5% of her wages.

It also said the SNP were assuming the £368 million which currently comes from Westminister to fund a the current council tax's shortfall in Scotland would still be delivered towards their income tax.

Don't know if its any of thats true buts its apparent during this campaign that the SNP haven't got a fecking clue how to run a country and is full of nothing but power-hungry opportunists.

I used to be all for an independent Scotland but in now all I wan't 'freeeeeedom' from is questionable UK foreign policy. An independent Scotland wouldn't have any foreign policy. More power to a devolved Scottish Parliamnent would suit me.

That may explain the 3-5% figure which I think would be hard for many to take.

They have been talking about a similar system for London but the tax would be 2%. When I work it out, that figure is about palatable.

Yip they want Independence but they want Westminster to continue paying Council Tax benefit although they are scrapping Council Tax..

Less pressure to get involved with expensive wars etc., can't see the problem. How has Scotland benefitted from the international clout of the UK?

Well of course it doesn't make sense when it's a load of guff that's written!

Firstly, we're already in Europe, all we're doing is removing a layer. What's yer point caller?

Secondly, "dump the bastard English". I said this only last week, it's always the unionists who seem obsessed with Braveheart rhetoric, here we have it again along with a 'freeeeeeedom' on another post. Yawn.

Thirdly, "Keep their Queen." Leave the false mixing of monarchs and nationality at Ibrox with the huns. You know fine well there is no automatic association between English and the Queen. Ask a Canadian if you're unsure.

Fourthly (!!) no council tax is being dumped, the method of determining payments would alter. Why shouldn't Westminster continue the levy while we're part of the UK? Surely British Labour aren't going to take 'punitive action' against an SNP administration by not handing over the dosh they handed over to Union Jack McConnell? If they do, you'll have independence quicker than ever imagined.
