Hail Hail from reading some of your previous posts i understand that you are an author? My question is that if you wrote a book would you be happy if it was released on torrent sites as a free download?

this happens a lot with ebooks now roorky so it's part and parcel of the business. It doesn't bother me either way, I've downloaded hundreds of films and hundreds of thousands of songs . It's the advance payment( when it eventually comes

) and the love of writing I do it for, sales from royalties I will class as a bonus. So, no, it wouldn't bother me.

I don't see the difference between free ebooks and the library.

I can see how some might get annoyed by it though. Two of my current projects will see 25% and 50% author royalties going to charities though so that might suck, for the charities.

The way i see it is that being available on the internet for free opens you up to a new audience and potential new readers/listeners/viewers that otherwise wouldn't even have gave you a second thought.

very true. myspace is excellent for this, add as many random 'friends' as you can then bombard them with bulletins when your stuff is being released. Bebo has an author section too.
