Help needed

Dunno if this is in the right forum or not, if not please feel free to move it Jamie! Anyhoo what I wanted to know was if anyone on the bounce know any good lawyers or legal advisors. I desperately need to contact someone (mainly free or mega cheap) asap.
Maybe any of you guys yourselves are in that field or have someone close who is that you could recommend. Please PM me if you don't want to put their names in this thread but I need help immediately.

Best first bet might well be Citizens Advice, they have a good range of knowledge and will be able to assist especially if the money side is going to be tight

Been there already. Thanks though. It's nowt too serious just neighbour trouble and threats made to me and my son. These threats were just mild until last night when I shouted something to my son who was playing in his room and the cow upstairs went outside to shout her mouth off that I was going to get a smack in the mouth and I'd better watch my back. Today she threatened my son and his friend who are now at the police station filing a complaint. We have done nothing wrong to these people except bring a child into their so called quiet neighbourhood (which I hasten to add has loads of kids already.) I'm a really nervous person and hate confrontations and I'm at my wits end. The council have done sweet FA to help us and they listen to their complaining, send me letters to attend a meeting re: the issues raised then when I do go they say that they're not taking their allegations seriously because there's nothing for them to complain about. They just pull me in to show them they are doing something. I'm getting sick of it, and the fact I work 5 days a week leaving my house at 8am and returning after 7pm just shows that I'm never in for them to feckin complain about. Arrrgh sorry I just need to vent I'm so angry right now, and shaking like a leaf.

Had a similar problem with a client, the locals complained about the noise she was creating so when her soloution was to be out of the house for as much of the day as possible and as she was doing some "volunteer" care for a friend with terminal cancer and that involved staying overnight sometimes, they complained that she had abandoned the council house we had worked hard to get her.

Might not be much help but I do think that you need a solicitor, if the council insist on pulling you in for a "chat" and then not taking follow up action against you, raise an action against them for victimisation and distress that their inaction is causing.

Most importantly you need to keep a diary of all the times that you or your son are threatened and report the threats to the police EVERY SINGLE TIME, you'll be surprised how quickly the evidence builds up for an injunction

Thankyou. The Police were helpful enough earlier but said they couldn't do much at the moment 9so much for clamping down on violence etc in neighbourhoods) they said they'd go and speak to her but she'd probably deny it. My son or myself have no police record whatsoever yet they claim (the neighbours) that we go around terrorising the neighbourhood. Now surely if that was the case there'd be ASBO'S out for us and I certainly wouldn't have a job working with kids. Basically the police said exactly what have re: logging the incidents but I may crack up before them. My other half wants to go out and cause a riot but that is just going to make us out as lowlife scumbags loke them.
