Looking to build a huge database of contacts on my PC. Any tips/suggestions/recommendations?

Can i buy some package?

Microsoft Access is pretty standard but obviously I couldn't possibly recommend that. Here's a list of other apps, some of them free:YAYYY:

Install a server on your pc and use MySQL - it's open source and won't cost you a penny.

If you don't already have a server or MySQL, download [Only Registered Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register] - choose the version for your current pc operating system. It contains both the most widely used web server (Apache) and MySQL. There is also a mysql control app called phpmyadmin which you can use to communicate your commands to the database.

Tons of other extras too which you probably won't want or care about

What you looking to do with it (i.e. how sophisticated do you need)? There's a contact manager in Outlook with all the usual suspect fields and I think Nokia offer the opportunity to Syn between mail and your mobile. Do you want to use it to do mail merge? Don't want to use a sledgehammer to crack a nut

No you don't.

If it's merely a contacts list then excel would easily handle this task.

I'd recommend open office base & calc instead though.

If it's to send out mailshots then microsft word ~>mail merge wizard as mentioned above.

You could use a PDA that syncronises with Outlook, so you can add to it on the move and back ip up later.
