Hearts predicted exit from the Champions league qualifiers is bad news for Romanov in many ways. Not least of which is the fact that the anticipated "millions" to pay for his credit card spree last season will not be forthcoming. UEFA Cup football is small-fry in comparison, and there is no guarantee whatsoever that Hearts will qualify for the group stages in that one either. Financial analysts last year were saying publically that Hearts financial situation meant that they were entirely dependent on Champions League qualification. It's not going to happen.
As I was saying during the close season, I think in the next few months things will come home to roost at the PBS. When Hearts and their fans slowly realise they are nothing like as good as they think they are, and Valdas eventually pays the price for poor form, indisciplined players, and early European exits, the Hearts fans will suddenely realise that they have been well and truly duped by a man who is not what he claims to be. At the moment they are £25 Million in debt and rising. How are they going to pay off that debt ? Only by selling Tynecastle, (what the pie-man was going to do anyway). Then they have to find the money from somewhere to build the super stadium Romanov was promising them last season. Where about in Edinburgh is there the affordable land space to build this stadium ? A troubling year lies ahead for our city neighbours.

The amazing thing is while Mad Vlad has blamed everyone and everything for their inability to qualify for the CL, he hasn't actually blamed it on a lack of competition in the SPL .... yet
