Right Wing; Is it still Privatisation, free market, low tax, Family, Small state, Responsibility, Minimum regulation and Government?

Was it ever any of the above? What's your interpretation of what it is?

I do reckon Left and Right Wing have gotten into a right tangled mess these days however, with 'New' Labour the source for much of this confusion

Rightly or wrongly, these days the two terms have the following connotations for me:

Left: Mixed Economy, High Tax, Rights, Big Govt, Bureaucracy, Authoritarianism, Protectionism, Ideaology, Faith, Stasis, Anti-Family, Relativism, anti-nationalist, Middle Class (Arts Graduates), contradiction and hypocrisy, pontificate about third world poverty, dream

Right: Market Based Economy, slightly less high tax, Responsibility, Small Govt, Enterprise, Libertarianism, Open Borders, Pragmatism, Reason, Evolution, Family, Discernment, Nationalist, Middle Class (Sciences Graduates), contradiction and hypocrisy, do something about third world poverty, act

Again, this is not meant to be provocative. In fact there are several attributes on this list that I would have reversed until a few years ago. I don't know if it's me that's changed or the political positions.

Probably both - certainly the respective positions on immigration seem to be going through a polar shift.

I'm with Subcomandante Marcos of the Zapatistas when he said that progressive politics dont go from right to left they gofrom top to bottom.

A bit to the right, very libertarian.

Nobody else seems to represent this groud explaining why I can't find anyone I want to vote for!!! Milton Friedman seems the closest.
