I always had them in my head as being semi-goth shoe-gazers but someone told me their stuff sounds like Razorlight?!

Go and name me a few of their best tunes to download and I'll give a one word critique later on.

Bought this album 2 days ago, mainly after the thread on here regarding, and i have to agree. What a cracking album it is, and like you the last tune is feckin braw.

TKraz?!!

Massive massive drop in standards in the new album.

For a band who are always going to be teetering on the verge of disappearing up their own arseholes, they seem to have fallen over the edge with this one.

And why no?

Seen em live coming up to a half dozen times now, and this new stuff just isnt a patch on the quality material before it.

Same here, Lix. So much so, that I bought their DVD on the back of it.

I wonder what nasty person, who'd illegally burn it on a blank CD and ludicrously pass it on to an unsuspecting Irishman at a future football match.

i've heard them described as a "poor man's radiohead" before, to which i say bollocks, they are completely different. matt bellamy's voices is closer to jeff buckley than it is to thom yorke. plus the lyrics in muse songs don't make you want to kill yourself (don't get me wrong, i like radiohead - they are depressing though). the guitar stuff is just not the same on any level. so wheest about that.

and the darkness...? THE DARKNESS?!??!?

they started AFTER muse! plus they just aren't the same! they are a cock rock band with big ac/dc riffs and daft Queen style power ballads! the are BUGGER ALL like muse. i have no idea where you got that comparison from.

(appologies if i seem a bit arrogant - i'm a cock when it comes to music, i'd be the first to admit it)

They're identical to Radioheads stuff during 'Pablo Honey', not just the vocal style. Didn't really listen to the words but tune alone is enough to drive me to the edge of the Forth Road Bridge.

I got the Darkness comparisson from your recommended tune 'Knights of Cydonia'. At least the Hawkins boys have their tongues in their cheek, Muse seem to be being serious with their Pink Floyd rock opera effort. That is a truly awful record. I thought punk killed prog-rock off but obviously not.

what your doing here is writing off a genre. that's just stupid. it's down to taste, and i for one quite like prog. you are entitled to listen to your indie or whatever, which i for one can't bare, but i'm not about to write it all off as crap.
