An interesting time in NI politics, as the Secretary of State tries to pressure the main parties into agreeing to return to the Stormont government in Belfast.

Peter Hain (the British Secretary of State for NI) has tried all sorts of wee tricks such as unpopular laws and taxes (eg 11 + and Water Rates respectively) to force agreement.

Bearing in mind that Hain will force through greater co-operation between Dublin and London - something that terrifies the DUP - in the running of NI come November if the parties don't kiss and make up, I have to say I found this wee bit of spin to be [Only Registered Users Can See Links. So the DUP are being told to cosy up to Sinn Fein or else Bertie's going to move more of his pals into Belfast, so they have a nice short journey up to Stormont every morning.

That will raise their blood pressure a point or two. Now queue the DUP demanding a special house (identical mind you can't have less than those forigein carpet baggers) for their officials to be built in the D4 area of Dublin to accomodate their staff having to work there in the spirit of cross border cooperation.
