I think hiring Trump is a bloody brilliant idea, but I'd have him working as consultant on developing the culture of entrepreneurship within Scotland instead of marketing us abroad. Still, well done McConnell, a wee coup that for you.

Trump's actually a much safer bet working on promotion than he would be as a consultant on entrepreneurship...as I understand it The Donald has comparatively little money of his own, is hugely in debt, and mostly lives on the strength of his enormous ego and relentless self-promotion. He'll be good at selling Scotland, and there's no risk of producing a culture of Scottish mini-Donalds who'd drive you to Argentina-like levels of debt within a generation.
