What Saturday or school jobs did folk have as yoofs?

i delivered the Lowfreeze News (1000 of them for £10) and worked two evenings at the Fine Fare in Dalry (abusive shites who always made you work more hours than they paid you).

Would you encourage your own kids to take similar jobs?

I worked at Ingliston Market from age 12. I had to be there by 7am and build 2 stalls sell T shirts all day, do a stocktake every night and dismantle the stalls.I got home at about 7pm. I got a tenner!

At 15 I went to work in Woolies in Corstorphine on a Saturday and also worked for a few months as a Chamber Maid in a hotel.

I'd let my kids work in a shop etc from age 15 but not before.

never had a job in my life but since im off for 16 weeks over the summer from uni then im thinkin i should get one

my dad has worked since he was 16 and now he has chosen to go to university so surprise surprise the family income has dropped by alot so yeah im getting payed for that reason

I wasn't refering to your situation specifically, just trying to understand the generalities of this new scheme.
