I hate all this absolute nonsense of suggesting that any serious competition winner is a fluke.

It's just not the case.

Other than the second half of last years final, Liverpool bored the whole of Europe ridgid with there ultra defensive footy. look what happend last night when they had to attack. I wont say it was a fluke they won it last year but they were very very lucky indeed. As for Champions of Europe the history book shows yes they were but most people know better !!!

There are now back to where they belong

They do Sean, but i refuse to believe than any winner in a Cup competition, of a standard such as the European Championships and Champions League, where say 6 minimum games have to be played is a fluke.

So currently both winners in the leading European National and Club copmpetitions are flukes? I refuse to believe that.

More of a fluke not to win IMO. Like us in the Scottish Cup..

although I see where you're coming from on this EGB I think the old firm comparison is a poor one. My bexperience is that English old firm fans are such for religious reasons, or Irish political ones. Some level of support for an English club is different. When I was a laddie we had a Scouse neighbour who took me to Anfield, where I saw King Kenny and Jan Molby. It was phenomenal and has stayed with me, so I have a real soft spot for them. Saying that I stopped paying attention when Souness was there

You seem obsessed on the power of Nick Hornby's pen and Murdoch's dishes. I know loads of folk who are Man Utd, Leeds, Liverpool, Newcastle,Everton daft. You honestly think no Scotsman ever 'supported' an English club before 1990?

Bit sweeping, Isn't it? Anyway, I tend to like to see British cluds doing well in Europe.

Don't know what you've got against Hornby - hardly a corporate behemoth. Is it a model train thing?

Indeed. Everyone I grew up with supported an English side as well as a Scottish one. Mostly Liverpool as they were the best at the time. I've been a Spurs supporter almost as long as I've been a Hibs fan (although not with the same intensity).

Re: Liverpool

There's a difference between people who support those clubs, go to the games etc, and people who wack a dish on the side of their house in Surrey, but a replica top, and pretend to everyone that the bleed ManYoo. I think they're the subject of Egb's ire, and frankly I agree with him. They can feck off.
