2. It's her sperm not yours

Aren't they arguing over an embryo, not sperm ?

There was a piece in Saturdays Daily Mail which gave a bit more info into the couple. It does slant pretty heavily onto his side, painting her as being manipulative, deceitful and getting pretty close to saying that she brought the cancer on by her own desire to have a child. I will try and find an online version of it.

I can understand the sympathy for the woman in this case- it is her only chance to have a child of her own and and I'm sure that can be a pretty powerful driver. However, the embryos are as much his as they are hers and I don't think she should be allowed to have a child that is his without his consent.

Take the flip side of this argument. Say he had testicular cancer and can now no longer have children, but these embryos from a previous relationship exist. Would courts allow his new wife/girlfriend to be impregnated with one of these embryos, against the wishes of his ex?
