Peter Carruthers, also known as Pat by friends & family, died peacefully on Saturday 16th September in the Western General.
Pat was Husband to Anne, Father to Colin & Pete and Grandfather to Oliver, Benjamin, Sebastian & Sam. Pat grew up just outside Lockerbie and spent most of his working life at Ferranti when he moved to Edinburgh in 1957. His family grew up in Inchmickery Court, Muirhouse and Drylaw House Gardens, where his wife Anne still lives today. His first Hibs game was in 1947, when his Father, A QOS fan, took him to Easter Road to watch them play Hibs. Hibs scored 9 goals that day and from then on Pat was a Hibby. Pat & Anne sat in the Famous Five Stand and in the old Cowshed before that. He saw the Famous Five play, league wins, league cup wins, Hibs taking the first steps into Europe and was present at both the 7-0 & 6-2 games. He always invested in Hibs, including shares & the Hibs 100 Club. Pat attended all the home games, reserve games and most of the away matches. The final game he attended was the first game of this season with Aberdeen. There will not be many people around who has attended more Hibs games than Pat. He was a quiet man, a family man and a Hibs man.
