Your funeral was one of the longest, but strangely proudest, days of my life.
Like Joey Dunlop (in some ways), you were everything we want Northern Ireland to be:unique, stylish, proud and - most importantly - all about loving (your hometown, your fans, your family, your game), not hating. You showed all these things to the world on our behalf and it was fitting that Northern Ireland said a fitting goodbye to a 'national' hero and treasure. That day a part of NI died, but the fact that we had the first 24 hour rest from sectarian political sniping and peacewrecking in the NI media for years tells us that one of your many legacies was, indirectly, to teach us to be more like you. God bless.
