Re: Galway: What's the craic with it?
Galway is buzzing during the summer. It's a small city, but its packed with good pubs, live music etc.
Quay Street/Shop Street area has a great atmosphere. The King's Head, Neactain's, The Quays, The Front Door, Busker Brown's, then there's a few trad music pubs. Seriously, you're spoiled for choice.
As Rep. Of Ireland Hibby said, Eyre Square is also popular and most of the nightclubs are nearby too.
For accommodation, there's a Jury's Inn at the bottom of Quay Street and next to the Spanish Arch/River Corrib. It's a good location for a boozy weekend.
June is a great time to come as there are a few events later in the summer when you really would be struggling to find accommodation.
